Capturing the Heart in Every Building, from Towering Offices to Cozy Living Rooms
I’m primarily an architectural retoucher. That means I spend my days (and some long nights) perfecting images of buildings – corporate offices, educational institutions, healthcare spaces, and a mix of civic projects (you know, the big “something” that shapes city skylines and communities). I work on a lot exterior shots, capturing the interplay of light and shadow on concrete, steel, and glass. Then there’s the meticulously designed interiors – spaces that reveal an architect’s vision or designer’s aesthetic.
Of course, I also dive into residential interiors from time to time, which I absolutely love. Residential projects bring a shift in “vibe” (because yes, buildings have vibes). There’s something cozy and personal about them that corporate towers just can’t match. I got my start in photography assisting on countless interior shoots and managing the post-production side of things. These shoots are like a time capsule for me. I can look back at a gallery of an interior from years ago and remember the whole day – how the shoot went, the weather, the vibe, every little detail of that space.

Enhanced Storytelling: Interiors Speak to People
Residential retouching is especially rewarding because of the storytelling involved. In these photos, the designer’s creativity blends with the homeowner’s personality. There’s a subtle intimacy – you’re capturing a part of someone’s life, a reflection of their taste, style, and maybe even their quirks. It’s like photographing a family member instead of a public figure; you get this sneak peek into their life.
I love knowing that I’m retouching the kitchen where they gather for family dinners or the cozy nook where their kids sprawl out with toys. These aren’t just rooms – they’re places filled with laughter, late-night conversations, and the everyday moments that make a house a home.
Interiors have layers of meaning, inviting people to connect emotionally. Whether it’s a warm reading corner with soft lighting or a sleek, high-end kitchen designed for entertaining, interiors tell stories. When I retouch these spaces, I’m amplifying that narrative, crafting an image that resonates with viewers on a personal level. Color, detail, texture – these are the building blocks of a mood, a feeling, a story.
More Room for Creativity
What’s fun about interiors is the “freedom to play.” When you’re retouching the corner of a room or the way light falls across a piece of art, there’s room to get creative, to experiment with subtle changes that make the final image really pop. Interior projects tend to give you a little more creative license, which is refreshing and, honestly, keeps the work interesting.
For me, retouching isn’t just about getting the lines straight and the colors right (although those are non-negotiable) – it’s about enhancing the story that the designer created. The ultimate goal? To make viewers feel something. Because, after all, that’s what makes a space memorable.
So, whether I’m capturing the hustle and buzz of a new office space or the quiet elegance of someone’s living room, I’m here to bring these spaces to life, one pixel at a time.
